Plácido Domingo's Operalia Winners

Former winners of Plácido Domingo's Operalia come together for the first time in an extraordinary and starry performance.

Background

Plácido Domingo's Operalia Winners provides an opportunity to see some of the finest opera singers of today perform some of the gems of the operatic repertory. The performers include singers well-known to Royal Opera audiences – Nina Stemme, Joyce DiDonato, Joseph Calleja, Rolando Villazón and Erwin Schrott – alongside voices new to Covent Garden: Stefan Pop, Julia Novikova and Sonya Yoncheva.

Operalia, The World Opera Competition, was founded in 1993 by Plácido Domingo to discover and help launch the careers of the best young opera singers in the world. It has since become the most important vocal competition – past prize-winners and finalists have become some of the most famous names in opera.
