Phoenix Dance Theatre

Particle Velocity is a boldly inventive new programme of work from leading contemporary dance company Phoenix Dance Theatre.

Background

Phoenix Dance Theatre’s new mixed programme, Particle Velocity, presents four exhilarating works by contemporary choreographers.

Artistic Director Sharon Watson’s new work Repetition of Change unravels the complexities of our genetic code in volatile and sensual choreography. Douglas Thorpe’s Tender Crazy Love is a blistering duet set to a Tarantino-esque soundtrack of classic songs. Jose Agudo is one of the UK’s most exciting emerging choreographic talents. His new work Ki is a ferocious, ritualistic solo about a man seizing control of his destiny. Richard Alston is Artistic Director at contemporary dance centre The Place in London. His first piece for Phoenix completes an exhilarating programme – All Alight pairs elegant choreography with Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello.
