Our Extraordinary World Gala
A fundraising Gala in aid of the Royal Opera House Foundation, created by Kasper Holten, Director of The Royal Opera, and Kevin O’Hare, Director of The Royal Ballet.
Background
In an unparalleled evening of opera, ballet and music, Our Extraordinary World will feature maestros Daniel Oren, Barry Wordsworth and Renanto Balasdonna with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The Royal Ballet, including world renowned Principal Dancers and a full corps de ballet, will perform world premieres from choreographers Alastair Marriott, Wayne McGregor and Liam Scarlett, a UK premiere from John Neumeier and works by Christopher Wheeldon, Frederick Ashton and Kenneth MacMillan. Highlights from The Royal Opera will include the Royal Opera Chorus performing the stirring ‘Freudig begrüssen’ from Tannhäuser, Roberto Alagna singing a wonderful aria from Le Cid, Angela Gheorghiu singing ‘Habanera’ from Carmen and Bryn Terfel in the powerful ‘Te Deum’ from Tosca.
