These events are part of the Summer 2015 season.
The annual showcase on the main stage, featuring all the Young Artists and accompanied by full orchestra in the pit.
The Jette Parker Young Artists Programme brings together talented singers, conductors and directors from around the world at the start of their careers. The Summer Performance provides a wonderful opportunity to see the stars of tomorrow at the centre of the Royal Opera House’s main stage.
All the available singers on the Programme will be involved, as will the music staff and stage director. The performance will feature a special guest appearance by Jette Parker Associate Conductor Michele Gamba as well as guest appearances by Jihoon Kim, who left the Programme in 2012, and the celebrated Romanian-born soprano Nelly Miricioiu, who has become a highly valued mentor to the Young Artists. The performance will be staged, with the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera in the pit, and include excerpts from Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra, Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur, Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles, Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust and Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette.
