Thomas Jung in action.
Thomas Jung, Constant Lambert Conducting Fellow

Thomas Jung is a former inaugural Constant Lambert Conducting Fellow with The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Jung is also Conductor and Music Director of the Flora Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Chief Conductor of the Studio Orchestra Duisburg and Guest Conductor of the Tianjin Grand Opera Symphony Orchestra China. He is also an Assistant and Cover Conductor for Bernard Haitink, was the Zander Fellow and Assistant Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic and Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and was Music Director of Moses muss singen at the Opera House of Münster. He has been working as an Assistant at the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne and Gürzenich Orchestra. He collaborated with composer Samson Young, realising his Muted Situation #22: Muted Tchaikovsky's 5th for the 2018 Sydney Biennale.

Thomas studied at the Cologne Academy of Music and the University of Cambridge, rounding off his training with masterclasses with Bernard Haitink, Jaap van Zweden, Colin Metters and Jorma Panula. He is a fellow of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the DEY Foundation, the Music Foundation of the Kreissparkasse and a conducting fellow of the Richard Wagner Association He is the 2017 recipient of the Eugen Jochum Award for Young Conductors.
