Sophie Allnatt

First Artist of The Royal Ballet

Biography

Sophie Allnatt is a First Artist of The Royal Ballet. She was born in Essex and trained locally at the Angela Allport Performing Arts School. She joined The Royal Ballet as an Artist in 2018, promoted to First Artist, 2022. 

Having completed 2 years on The Royal Ballet junior Associate programme, Sophie joined The Royal Ballet School, graduating in 2011 with Distinction. As a student she was awarded the April Olrich Award for Dynamic Performance and performed on secondment with The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet. After graduating she danced with Scottish Ballet and Ballet Magdeburg where she performed soloist and principal roles including Marie and the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker) and Bluebird and Canary Fairy (The Sleeping Beauty). In 2018 she danced the Summer pas de deux in Jenna Lee’s The Four Seasons with New English Ballet Theatre. 

Her roles with The Royal ballet include Clara, Columbine, Mirliton (The Nutcracker), Juliet's Friend (Romeo and Juliet), pas de six (Giselle), Fairy of the Songbird and The White Cat (The Sleeping Beauty), Cygnet (Swan Lake) and roles in Solo Echo, Scènes de ballet and Like Water for Chocolate
