Siri Fischer Hansen is Administrator of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme. She was invited to join the Programme as Co-ordinator soon after its start in September 2001, and was appointed to her current role after the Programme’s re-structuring in 2006. Previous roles at the Royal Opera House include Assistant to the Director of Corporate Affairs 1992–8 and Assistant to the Director of the Friends of Covent Garden 1998–9.
Fischer Hansen graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a MA in English language and literature. She went on to study theatre history before moving to London in 1984. Work before joining the Royal Opera House included positions with Shakespeare’s Globe, the British Theatre Association, the Royal Albert Hall, English National Opera and for sculptor Anthony Caro. Work in Denmark included for Brunata International, the Association of Danish Teachers and at the enrollment department of the University of Copenhagen. She has also worked extensively as a Danish/English translator.
Fischer Hansen’s role at the Royal Opera House involves sharing the management of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme with Artistic Director David Gowland, taking responsibility for all administrative matters.
