Biography

French baritone Pierre Doyen graduated from the Conservatoire de Liège in 2002, later completing his training at the Royal College of Music - Benjamin Britten International Opera School. He began his career at the Opera Studio at La Monnaie, Brussels, where roles included Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Albert (Werther), Escamillo (Carmen), Lescaut (Manon), Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette) and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia). He has performed at theatres across France and Europe, including at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Opéra de Marseille, Opéra Grand Avignon, Opéra de Lille, Opéra de Toulon, Opéra de Montpellier, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Lyon, Bergen Nasjonale Opera and Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and has worked under conductors including Pinchas Steinberg, Asher Fisch, Christoph Eschenbach, Alain Altinoglu and Emmanuel Villaume. Recent engagements include Ping (Turandot) at Opéra de Dijon, Lakmé at NCPA Beijing, Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Iphigénie en Tauride at Opéra de Lorraine in Nancy, Escamillo in Hong Kong and Manon at Paris Opera.
