British fight director Philip d’Orleans has directed fights for the Jette Parker Young Artists’ performances of L’isola disabitata (Linbury Studio Theatre and Hobart Festival Tasmania), and the summer performances Veneziana and La Favorite Act I/Così fan tutte Act I, and for Der Rosenkavalier (Schlesinger production) on the main stage. In the 2018/19 Season he re-stages the fights for Simon Boccanegra.
D’Orleans is a member of the Equity Register of Fight Directors and of the teaching and examining staff of the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat. He has worked throughout Europe and America, alongside regular teaching commitments at RADA, Drama Studio London and other drama schools and universitiies. He has directed fights for Simon Boccanegra, Faust and Ariodante (English National Opera), for eight productions for Shakespeare’s Globe, for Julius Caesar and I’ll be the Devil (Royal Shakespeare Company), for The Djinns of Eidagh (Royal Court) and for Swimming with Sharks, Cool Hand Luke and Carrie’s War (West End). Other fight directing credits include Dial M for Murder (national tour) and productions for many regional theatres including in Bath, Nottingham and Buxton.
D’Orleans’s film credits include Peter Pan (Warner Brothers) and The Knife that Killed Me (Universal Pictures).
