Olly Bell

Biography

British dancer Olly Bell makes his Royal Opera debut in the 2019/20 Season as Jaschiu (Death in Venice).

Bell was born in Leeds and began his dance studies on the Centre for Advanced Training Scheme at the age of 13. He complete his pre-vocational training at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, then moved to London to take a Bachelors degree in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. While studying, he performed alongside Punchdrunk as part of the Everybody Project in Selfridges. After graduation, he joined EDGE Dance Company, touring internationally in works by choreographers Tamsin Fitzgerald, Ben Wright, Athina Vahla and Philippe Blanchard.

Since graduating from EDGE, Bell has worked on a range of projects with Rosie Kay Dance Company, Motionhouse, Maxine Doyle, Ascension Dance Company and Mercurial Dance.
