Nick Fletcher

Jette Parker Young Artist


British répétiteur and conductor Nick Fletcher joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme from the start of the 2016/17 Season as Associate Répétiteur. In his first Season he played the continuo for Oreste and joined the music staff for Der Rosenkavalier, Written on Skin, Don Carlo, La traviata, Mitridate, re di Ponto and the Young Artists’ Summer Performance. In the 2017/18 Season he joins the music staff for La Tragédie de Carmen, conducts part of the Young Artists’ Summer Performance and joins the music staff of The Royal Opera for several productions.

Fletcher studied at the University of Edinburgh, the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio. He has since worked for Welsh National Opera and Scottish Opera, engagements including Music Director for Scottish Opera’s tour of Così fan tutte. He was trainee répétiteur with English National Opera for the 2015/16 Season, working with Mark Wigglesworth and Richard Armstrong on productions including Die Zauberflöte, Madam Butterfly and Jenůfa.

Fletcher has a long association with Fulham Opera, where he has played piano reductions of Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung in performance and conducted Gianni Schicchi. Further engagements including conducting La bohème for Opera24 at Grimeborn Festival and performances with Silent Opera at the Aldeburgh and Tête à Tête festivals.
