Biography

English dancer Madison Bailey joined The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme from the start of the 2019/20 Season and was promoted to Artist in 2020. 

Bailey was born in Tunbridge Wells and began dancing at the age of seven. She trained at The Royal Ballet School as a Junior Associate, and continued through both Lower and Upper School. Performances while a student include in Concerto, Les Sylphides, The Conservatory, Sleeping Beauty and Multiplicity

While at The Royal Ballet School, she danced as Vixen (Sharp-Ears) in the premiere of Liam Scarlett’s The Cunning Little Vixen. Her professional performances while a student included dancing with The Royal Ballet in Liam Scarlett’s Swan Lake, and with Birmingham Royal Ballet in The Nutcracker.

Bailey's repertory with the Company includes Clara (The Nutcracker), Neapolitan dance (Swan Lake) and Solo Echo
