Katy Batho



British soprano Katy Batho is a member of the Royal Opera Chorus. She has sung Novice (Suor Angelica), Georgette (La rondine), Lap Dancer (Anna Nicole), Serving Maid (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Asphodèle (L’Étoile) and First Noble Orphan (Der Rosenkavalier) for the Company and in the 2019/20 Season sings Ensemble/English Lady (Death in Venice).

Batho studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She has worked with Garsington Opera, Grange Park Opera, English Touring Opera, Longborough Festival Opera and Raymond Gubbay Productions. Her solo appearances include Emmie (Albert Herring) for Glyndebourne Festival, First Niece (Peter Grimes) for The Royal Opera, Molly Brazen (The Beggar’s Opera) for The Royal Opera in the Linbury Theatre and Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance) for Carl Rosa Opera.

Prior to joining the Royal Opera Chorus Batho sang with the Royal Opera Extra Chorus, including as one of seven Keres (The Minotaur) and one of six Spirits (Cendrillon).
