Kate Waters (2014)

Biography

In the 2013/14 Season fight director Kate Waters choreographs the fights for Kasper Holten's new production of Don Giovanni. Her previous credits with The Royal Opera include Katie Mitchell's production of Written on Skin.

Waters is one of only two women on the Equity Register of Fight Directors and works widely in theatre. For the National Theatre her credits have included Othello, Port, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (also West End), The Comedy of Errors, One Man, Two Guvnors (also West End, Broadway and world tour), Frankenstein, Season’s Greetings, Hamlet, Women Beware Women and War Horse (also West End). Further credits include Julius Caesar and In The Same Deep Water As Me (Donmar Warehouse), Hamlet, Titus Andronicus and King Lear (RSC), Noises Off (Old Vic and West End), The Duchess of Malfi and Sweet Bird of Youth (Old Vic), Henry IV Parts I and II (Peter Hall Company, Bath Theatre Royal), Henry VI and Dr Faustus (Shakespeare’s Globe), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), From Here to Eternity (West End), Macbeth (Trafalgar Studios) and The Last Goodbye (Old Globe, San Diego).

Waters often works for television and regularly directs fights for ‘Coronation Street’.
