Jude Christian

Biography

Writer and director Jude Christian makes her Royal Opera debut in the 2019/20 Season as the dramaturg for The Lost Thing, a co-production between The Royal Opera and Candoco.

Jude is Associate Artist at the Gate Theatre and Associate Director at HOME. As a writer her work including Nanjing (Shakespeare’s Globe and Royal Court) and Dick Whittington (Lyric Hammersmith). Her directing credits include Dark Night of the Soul (Shakespeare’s Globe), Peter Pan (Brageteatret, Norway), Trust and I’d Rather Goya Robbed Me of My Sleep Than Some Other Arsehole (Gate Theatre, London), My Mum’s a Twat, Bodies and Blue (Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama), Lela & Co (Royal Court Theatre), Parliament Square (Royal Exchange, Manchester, and Bush Theatre), Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington and othellomacbeth (Lyric Hammersmith) and How Do You Eat an Elephant/Bwyta Eliffant, Sut Mae Gwneud Hynny Dwedwich? (National Youth Theatre of Wales).

Jude’s associate director credits include The Seagull, Shopping and Fucking and Aladdin (Lyric Hammersmith), Three Sisters and The Darkest Corridors (RashDash) and Carmen Disruption (Almeida).
