Jonathan Fisher

Biography

Jonathan Fisher is a member of the Royal Opera Chorus.

Fisher studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Bernard Dickerson and at the Cologne Hochschule für Musik und Tanz with Franz Müller-Hauser. His many solo roles for The Royal Opera have included Tourist (Death in Venice), Trifon Petrovich (Eugene Onegin), Half-tipsy Man (The Midsummer Marriage), Captain (Simon Boccanegra), Demas (The Pilgrim’s Progress), First Lumberjack (Paul Bunyan), First Consul of Milan (La battaglia di Legnano), Janissary (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Rabonier (La rondine), Nottingham’s Confidant (Roberto Devereux), Official Registrar (Madama Butterfly), Porter (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Ladas (The Greek Passion), First Apparition (Macbeth), Old Gypsy (Il trovatore), Corporal (La Fille du régiment) and Marquis d’Obigny (La traviata), and in Mr Worldly Wise for The Royal Ballet.

Fisher’s further performances at the Royal Opera House have included Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady) for the Covent Garden Festival and in a semi-staged performance to celebrate the 140th anniversary of Sullivan’s Cox and Box in the Crush Room.
