Artist and designer Jeremy Herbert makes his Royal Ballet debut in the 2017/18 Season designing the sets for Arthur Pita’s ballet The Wind.
Herbert is an award-winning artist and stage designer. He has had a long connection with the Royal Court, where he collaborated with Sarah Kane on the acclaimed premieres of Cleansed and 4.48 Psychosis. He is Associate Designer at the Young Vic, where his credits include Hamlet, The Glass Menagerie, Blackta and his experimental theatre installation Safe House, in collaboration with Gabriella Sonabend. His opera credits include the world premiere of Furrer’s La bianca notte for Hamburg State Opera and Rodelinda for English National Opera, directed by Richard Jones.
Herbert has created installations and immersive performances for the Ruhrtriennale and Artangel. His awards include the 2004 Nesta Award.
