Mezzo-soprano Jeanette Ager made her Royal Opera solo debut in the 2016/17 Season as an Apprentice (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg). Previous work with The Royal Opera includes singing with the Royal Opera Extra Chorus.
Ager studied at the Royal Academy of Music and won the Royal Over-Seas League Competition and the Richard Tauber Prize. She has appeared regularly in recital at London’s Wigmore Hall. Other concert appearances include Messiah (St David’s Hall, Cardiff), Angel in The Dream of Gerontius (Queen Elizabeth Hall, and in the work’s Chinese premiere), A Child of Our Time (Royal Festival Hall), Verdi’s Requiem (Gloucester and Hereford cathedrals) and Beethoven’s Missa solemnis (Barbican).
Ager’s operatic roles include Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) and Thea (The Knot Garden).
