Italian dancer Jacopo Tissi makes his Royal Ballet debut in the 2018/19 Season dancing Romeo (Romeo and Juliet) as a Guest Artist.
Tissi was born Landriano, Italy and trained at the Ballet School of the Teatro alla Scala Academy, graduating in 2014. During the 2014/15 season he danced with the Vienna State Ballet, where his repertory included roles in Giselle Rouge (Eifman) and Le combat des anges (Petit). He joined La Scala Ballet in the 2015/16 season. His repertory included Prince Desire (The Sleeping Beauty), Des Grieux (Manon), Prince Charming (Cinderella), Espada (Don Quixote) and the French Dance in Nacho Duato’s Nutcracker. In 2017, he joined the Bolshoi Ballet, where he is now a leading soloist. His repertory at the Bolshoi includes Siegfried, Solor, Nutcracker-Prince, Romeo and Paris (Romeo and Juliet), Jean de Brienne (Raymonda), Antoine Mistral (Flames of Paris), Grand Pas Classique (Alexander Gsovskyi) and roles in Etudes, ‘Diamonds’ (Jewels), Le Corsaire, Forgotten Land and Caravaggio.
