Russian ballet dancer Evgenia Obraztsova is a principal with Bolshoi Ballet. She first danced with The Royal Ballet as a Guest Artist in 2009 as Princess Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty) and has since danced Juliet with the Company. She has also appeared at the Royal Opera House with the Mariinsky Ballet for two seasons: in 2009 as Juliet, Princess Aurora and in Symphony in C; and in 2011 as Kitri (Don Quixote), Kitty (Anna Karenina) and in Ballet Imperial and In the Night. In the 2014/15 Season she returns to dance Odette/Odile (Swan Lake) with The Royal Ballet as a Guest Artist.

Obraztsova was born in St Petersburg to a family of ballet dancers. She studied at the Vaganova Academy and on graduation joined the Mariinsky Ballet. She joined the Bolshoi as a principal in 2012. Her roles include Odette/Odile (Swan Lake), Juliet, Princess Aurora, La Sylphide, Carla Fracci's Cinderella, Margherita (Luciano Cannito's Faust), Giselle, Kitri, Maria (The Fountain of Bakhchisarai) and a role in In the Night. In 2006 she created the title role in Pierre Lacotte's production of Ondine, for which she won the Golden Mask award.

Obraztsova's many other prizes include the gold medal at the 2005 Moscow International Ballet Competition. She has performed as a guest artist around the world, with companies including Roman Opera Ballet, La Scala Ballet, Milan, Arena di Verona, ANB Ballet Company, Tokyo and Berlin State Ballet. She made her Paris Opera Ballet debut in June 2013 as the title role in Lacotte's La Sylphide opposite Mathias Heymann. Film performances include in the romantic comedy Les Poupées russes (Russian Dolls) with Kelly Reilly and Romain Duris directed by Cédric Klapisch.
