Emerson Murphy

Biography

Treble Emerson Murphy made his Royal Opera debut in 2015 as First Boy (Die Zauberflöte).

Murphy is a chorister at the Temple Church in London, where he has sung since the age of seven under James Vivian and Roger Sayer. Appearances with the choir include a service in the presence of HM The Queen at the re-commissioning of the church’s pipe organ and concerts at the Aldeburgh Festival, Cadogan Hall and the BBC Proms. He has also toured with the choir to Washington DC, performing at the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court to commemorate the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.

Murphy has sung live as a soloist on BBC Radio 3 and features as a soloist on the recording A Knight’s Progress (Signum Classics).
