Biography

British baritone Dominic Sedgwick was a member of the Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Artists Programme 2017-2019. His roles for ROH include Schaunard (La boheme), English Clerk (Death in Venice), for which he and other Young Artists received an Olivier Award nomination, Marullo (Rigoletto), Kuligin (Káťa Kabanová), Novice’s Friend (Billy Budd), Moralès and Dancaïre (Carmen) and Third Ghost Child (Coraline).  

His 2022/23 roles included Harlequin (Ariadne auf Naxos) for Opera North and Albert (Werther) for Grange Park Opera, alongside returns to ROH and his debut at Teatro Colón.   

Further performances include Anthony in Giorgio Battistelli’s Julius Caesar for Teatro dell’Opera di Roma; Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) for Opéra National de Bordeaux, Melot (Tristan und Isolde) for the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and Marullo (Rigoletto) for the Festival Berlioz and Bremen Musikfest.
