American bass-baritone Craigh Colclough makes his Royal Opera debut in the 2017/18 Season as Pistol (Falstaff).
Colclough began his career with Los Angeles Opera. He went on to join Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artist Studio and to work as a Filene Young Artist with Wolf Trap Opera. He made his European debut as Jack Rance (La fanciulla del West) for English National Opera and has subsequently sung Kurwenal (Tristan und Isolde) and Scarpia (Tosca) for the company. Engagements in the USA include Bosun (Billy Budd) and Simone (Gianni Schicchi) for Los Angeles Opera, Falstaff and Don Pasquale for Arizona Opera, Oroveso (Norma) for Florida Grand Opera, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) for Atlanta Opera, Lieutenant Gordon (Puts’s Silent Night) for Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Doristo (L’arbore di Diana) for Minnesota Opera. He has also sung Scarpia for Canadian Opera Company.
Colclough’s concert engagements include appearances with the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and California Philharmonic, Timur (Turandot) in concert with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela and Gustavo Dudamel, Doctor Grenvil (La traviata) with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Beethoven’s Symphony no.9 with the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.
