Ben Pickersgill is a British lighting designer working predominantly in theatre and opera. Elizabeth marks his debut with The Royal Ballet. His opera credits include Trouble in Tahiti (Opera North), Mad King Suibhne (Bury Court Opera), Carmen, Idomeneo, Noye’s Fludde (Blackheath Halls), L’Ospedale (Wilton’s Music Hall), Snow (Opera Story) and La Rondine (Go Opera). His work in theatre includes This House (West Yorkshire Playhouse and UK Tour), A Christmas Carol (Trafalgar Studios), Yerma (Riverside Studios), Company, Cabaret (Aberdeen Arts Centre), Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods (Bridewell Theatre) and Rumplestiltskin and Other Grizzly Tales (Wimbledon Studio). He was associate lighting designer for Opera North’s Little Greats season in 2017 and also This House (Garrick Theatre) and Soul (Royal and Derngate). He was lighting programmer for King Lear, Hamlet, Cymbeline, Dr Faustus, Oppenheimer, The Jew of Malta, Don Quixote (RSC), The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Private Lives, Canvas (Chichester Festival Theatre), Werther, The Tales of Hoffmann and Pelleas et Melisande (English Touring Opera).
