Australian dancer Ashleigh McKimmie was a member of The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme in the 2014/15 Season. On leaving the programme she joined Estonian National Ballet.
McKimmie started dancing at the age of four. She trained at the Carmel Amelia School of Dance and the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, and joined English National Ballet School in 2012. Performances while still a student included dancing with English National Ballet in Le Corsaire and The Nutcracker and with The Royal Ballet on tour in Moscow in Manon and Romeo and Juliet.
McKimmie’s many awards include the Maestro Cecchetti Award at the 2011 Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition and the 2012 Barbara Geoghegan Award.
