Amy Baty makes her Royal Opera House Debut in the 2019/20 Season as assistant director and writer for Aisha and Abhaya, a co-production between The Royal Ballet and Rambert.
Amy is a writer, theatre-maker, producer and workshop facilitator. Her work in France includes projects with Les Poussieres, Theatre de la Jonquiere and Theatre Berthelot. After studying Applied Theatre at La Sorbonne, she created her own company, wrote and directed Sans Elles which was performed in theatres and festivals across Paris, funded by Paris Young Talent. An Edinburgh Fringe festival regular, Amy has written Hone and Strop (The Vaults festival, London), Hand (Cockpit Theatre) and Thicker Than Water (longlisted for The Papatango New Writing Prize), Heretic voices (Arcola, Pint-sized productions). She continued her role as facilitator with Pascal Theatre Company and The Empathy Museum. Amy has worked on script and production for Tiana Linden Films, including WEST in 2019, Les Indiscrets production company, and has collaborated with and assisted Kibwe Tavares since 2018.
