Amanda Baldwin


British mezzo-soprano Amanda Baldwin is a member of the Royal Chorus. She has sung Bridesmaid (Lohengrin) for The Royal Opera and in the 2019/20 Season sings Ensemble/Guest (Death in Venice).

Baldwin studied at the RCM with Margaret Cable, winning the Giulia Grisi Prize and the Cobbet and Hurlestone Prize for contemporary performance. She is a former member of the Welsh National Opera Chorus, and has sung Second Esquire (Parsifal), Dryad (Ariadne auf Naxos), Mercédès (Carmen), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Third Bird (The Sacrifice), Fourth Page (Lohengrin), Laura (Iolanta), Second Solo Voice (Moses und Aron), Flora Bervoix (La traviata) and Lola (The Merry Widow) for WNO. With WNO she has also broadcast on S4C. Since joining the Royal Opera Chorus she has covered Grimgerde (Die Walküre).

Baldwin has also performed internationally as a concert soloist.
