Biography

Spieltenor Alexander Kravets made his Royal Opera debut in the 2016/17 Season as District Inspector (The Nose).

Kravets studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He has sung for companies including the Metropolitan Opera, New York, La Scala, Milan, Paris Opéra, Berlin State Opera, La Monnaie, Brussels, Bavarian State Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Dutch National Opera, Komische Oper Berlin, Teatro Real, Madrid, and Teatro di San Carlo, Naples.

Engagements include the title role in The Nose for Aix-en-Provence Festival and Opéra de Lyon, District Inspector for Berlin State Opera, Opéra de Lausanne, Dutch National Opera and the Metropolitan Opera, Drunken Guest (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) for La Scala, Teatro Real, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Teatro di San Carlo, Dutch National Opera, Grand Théâtre de Genève and Paris Opéra, Graf Albert (Die tote Stadt) and Ser Toldo Berardengo (Zandonai’s Francesca da Rimini) for Paris Opéra, Sharikov (A Dog’s Heart, world premiere) and Schoolmaster (The Cunning Little Vixen) for Dutch National Opera, Kedril (From the House of the Dead) for Teatro Real, Monostatos (Die Zauberflöte) for La Fenice, Venice, Teatro Massimo, Palermo, and Grand Théâtre de Genève, Monsieur Triquet (Eugene Onegin) for La Fenice and Grand Théâtre de Genève, Second Officer (Die Soldaten) for Komische Oper Berlin, Spoletta (Tosca) for Bregenz Festival and Sellem (The Rake’s Progress) for Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
