Designer Adam Wiltshire made his Royal Ballet debut in 2004, creating costume designs for Alastair Marriott’s Being and Having Been. He has since returned to create set and costume designs for Marriott’s Tanglewood, Children of Adam and Sensorium, and for Shobana Jeyasingh’s Bayadère – The Ninth Life.
Wiltshire trained in theatre design at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. In 2003 he was a group winner of the Linbury Biennial for Theatre Design. His opera designs include Roméo et Juliette and Duke Bluebeard’s Castle for Opera North, Káty’a Kabanová, Promised End, The Duenna, Teseo and L’infedeltà delusa for English Touring Opera, As I Crossed a Bridge of Dreams for Almeida Opera, Blond Eckbert and Birds. Barks. Bones for The Opera Group and Le nozze di Figaro for the Royal Northern College of Music.
Wiltshire’s dance designs include Marriott’s Kiss for Sadler’s Wells and Gillian Lynne’s Miracle in the Gorbals and Kit Holder’s Quatrain for Birmingham Royal Ballet.
