Tiziano Bracci



Italian bass Tiziano Bracci made his Royal Opera debut in the 2013/14 Season as the Sacristan (Tosca).

Bracci trained at the International Academy of Music in Milan and made his professional debut as Timur (Turandot) at Teatro Coccia, Novara. In 2006 he won second place and the Audience Prize at the Francisco Viñas Competition, Barcelona. He is a former member of the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where his roles included Simone and Marco (Gianni Schicchi). He has appeared for major European companies including Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Opéra de Lille, Scottish Opera and Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris. His repertory includes Doctor Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Sacristan, Antonio (Le nozze di Figaro), Schaunard (La bohème), Mustafà (L’italiana in Algeri), Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola) and Fra Melitone (La forza del destino). Bracci appears regularly in concert, and has worked with such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Bertrand de Billy, Thomas Hengelbrock, Fabio Luisi, Yves Abel, Jacques Lacombe and Fabrizio Maria Carminati.

Bracci’s recordings include Capellio (I Capuleti e i Montecchi) for Deutsche Grammophon with Anna Netrebko and Elina Garanca, and Benoît and Alcindoro in a film of La bohème with Rolando Villazón and Netrebko.
