Spanish tenor Ismael Jordi made his Royal Opera debut in 2014, singing Roberto, Conte di Leicester (Maria Stuarda).

Jordi was born in Jerez de la Frontera and studied at the Superior School of Music in Madrid with Alfredo Kraus. He made his debut at the Teatro Villamarta in Jerez, singing Ernesto (Don Pasquale). He has since sung in opera houses around Europe, including for Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Opéra-Comique, Paris, and in Madrid, Barcelona, Vienna, Zürich, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Seville and Oviedo. His repertory includes Pylade (Iphigénie en Tauride), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Gennaro (Lucrezia Borgia), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Riccardo Percy (Anna Bolena), Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Alfredo Germont (La traviata), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), Wilhelm Meister (Mignon) and Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann).

Jordi appears regularly in recital and in concert. His recordings include La traviata, Martha, Le Chanteur de México and Le Duc d’Albe.
