French dancer Elsa Godard is a First Artist of The Royal Ballet. She trained at The Royal Ballet School and graduated into the Company in 2007, promoted to First Artist in 2014.
Godard was born in France and was first drawn to dance through watching Fred Astaire movies. She trained in Paris with Dominique Khalfouni and in 2005 joined The Royal Ballet Upper School. In her final year at the School she danced the lead couple in Paul Boyd’s In stillness we meet and ‘Tarantella’ (Raymonda Act III) for the School’s tour.
Godard's repertory with the Company includes White Cat (The Sleeping Beauty), Cygnet (Swan Lake) and roles in Concerto, La Bayadère, Manon, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Rhapsody, Serenade, Jewels, Ballo della regina and Sweet Violets.
