English dancer Elizabeth Harrod is a Soloist of The Royal Ballet. She trained at The Royal Ballet School and graduated into the Norwegian National Ballet in 2004, joing the Company in 2007 as an Artist. She was promoted to First Artist in 2008 and to Soloist in 2013.
Harrod was born in Lincoln and began dancing aged six at the Skelton Hooper School of Dance and Theatre, Hull. She joined The Royal Ballet School as a junior associate and graduated in 2004. Her roles with The Royal Ballet have included Clara (The Nutcracker), blue girl (Les Patineurs), Princess Stephanie (Mayerling), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), White Cat and Fairy of the Golden Vine (The Sleeping Beauty), Moyna (Giselle) and Spring Fairy (Cinderella). She has also performed in new works by Liam Scarlett, Christopher Wheeldon, Alasdair Marriott and Jonathan Watkins.
Work away from the Company includes appearing in a music video with singer Keaton Henson for Channel 4’s Random Acts. She has a diploma in nutrition and is married to Royal Ballet Principal Steven McRae, with whom she has taught ballet workshops in Australia.
