Dominic Sedgwick



British baritone Dominic Sedgwick joins the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme from the start of the 2017/18 Season. In the 2017/18 Season his roles include Marullo (Rigoletto), Second Nazarene (Salome) and Moralès (Carmen).

Sedgwick read theology at Clare College, Cambridge, and is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is a Britten-Pears Young Artist and a Drake Calleja Scholar, and has received support from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the Help Musicians Sybil Tutton Award, the Kathleen Trust and the Worshipful Companies of Grocers and Goldsmiths. Competition successes include Felicity Lott's masterclass competition at the Three Choirs Festival and reaching the finals of the Stuart Burrows International Voice Award. He has sung in masterclasses with Joyce DiDonato, Simon Keenlyside, Ann Murray and Susan Bullock.

Opera engagements include Robert (Iolanta), Junius (The Rape of Lucretia) and Damyan (The Tale of Januarie, world premiere) for GSMD, Owen Wingrave for British Youth Opera, Sherasmin (Oberon) with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, Dr Falke (Die Fledermaus) for Opera Danube, Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) for Longborough Festival Opera as a Young Artist and further work for Glyndebourne Festival, Aix-en-Provence Festival and Garsington Opera. He has performed in recital in London and across the UK.
