It was superb. Liping Zhang was marvelous as the wronged heroine. The best Butterfly I have ever seen.

Now I am awaiting Aida and Tosca ......?

Saw 'Madama Butterfly' in the cinema. I thought all the artists were excellent and I loved the staging but although I enjoy 3D in other types of film I really don't think it enhanced my experience at all. In fact it can have a distorting effect. Compare the Met. Opera's style of filming with this. I think the Met's approach is far superior.

Just seen Madame Butterfly live - brilliant performances and set - almost ruined by tacky 3D with poor quality images, incomplete shots of singers (Pinkerton's head was often not showing and sub titles impossible to read as they to fell of the bottom of the screen. Just forget 3D and show us your superb performances in 2D!

madam butterfly live 12/07/11 (and later at the cinema) was/is sensational. Liping Shang gave what can only be described as a stunning performance. The whole cast were excellent-more committed than some of the more famous names. WHEN IS IT FOR SALE?
