#ROHBoheme- we laughed, applauded and cried here in #Brighton @ODEONcinemas. Magnificent from start to finish. #Puccini.

Grande émotion à Bordeaux France
Aw, now see what you made me do. I've never cried at opera before but the music & storytelling were overwhelming. Thank you #ROHBoheme
Tonights wonderful performance was sublime in every way. Feel privileged to have attended at my local theatre. Thank you to each and every cast member you were amazing.
I went prepared not to like the new production but absolutely loved it. Great cast and orchestra superb as always with Antonio Pappano at the helm.
The best production, singing and acting I've ever seen - and I've seen quite a lot. Thank you everyone for a memorable and most moving boheme. The chemistry between Mimi and Rodolfo was extraordary.
I have never been an opera buff - I could take it or leave it - but this performance was breathtaking! I was blown away . . . . and I could see it just 10 minutes walk from my home in Wiltshire!! Brilliant! I will most definitely be back to see more ROH productions.
This was one of the most amazing performances of La Boheme I have ever seen.
Still weepy!
Cambridge
It was an amazing emotional performance - I loved it
Magnificent production in every apect. Bravo! Feel privileged to have attended at my local theatre!❤
I have loved this opera for over 50 years but Tony P and the wonderful cast showed me new things about it. So emotionally true and sincere. Particularly liked the way all the Bohemians were given distinct personalities.
Perfect and soo emotional.
Makes me so happy to see such beautiful operas so regularly ! Boheme was stunning! Congratulations to Anthony Pappano, cast, orchestra and all behind the scenes - it was a wow!
Wonderful, beautiful, funny, sad, very sad. Fabulous voices, a brilliant set, perfect music. An amazing evening. How great to be able to enjoy opera live from ROH.
Have just had the most amazing evening. Such a Wonderful, emotional production. I Just didn't want it to end.
What a truly wonderful and emotional performance - we loved it. Far superior to the live one earlier in the year from Taormina - setting spectacular but........
Sorry not on Twitter
The performance was amazing. Laughter and tears. Such an excellent production. So good to watch this so near to home yet feel part of the ROH audience.
Everything and everyone from start to finish was just breathtaking! An unforgettable performance! Magnificent! Thank you, thank you!
Grande emozione al cinema Metropolitan di Napoli!!!! Magnifico cast e magnifico Pappano!!!
I absolutely loved it. Bravo!
Glorious totally spellbinding
Stunning, and genuinely awesome! Tremendous sincerity and incredible vivacity. I was both saddened and elated by the whole experience. Everyone involved with the event should be proud of their achievement.
The best Mimi I've ever seen and heard (and, at 73, I've seen and heard a few). Youth singing youth is magical and Pappano just loves this score from beginning to end. Please come back and sing it again, Nicole. And please, ROH, release it on blu-ray.
Superb cast , production and glorious Pappano! Another emotional heater skelter, joy and tears, thank you.
3rd time of seeing this opera but tonight's performance was like the first time What an emotional performance electric chemistry from all the characters.
Very enjoyable production. Watched it in Scarborough. Really liked the spartan but imaginatively designed garret. Thought Mimi's performance got better from act to act. Rodolfo maybe not quite so much but still enjoyable. Must be about the 12th time I've seen La Boheme in various guises. Still never seen a bad one.
Performance terrific in every way; musically heartbreaking but uplifting. Loved the production.
Dear ROH team,
My first time at a live broadcast.
Wow!
I have only ever seen Opera singers performing upright in front of a microphone.
Tonight I saw them act and move beyond belief, and still sing at a level I never understood before.
I take my hat off to the whole cast.
And the technical crew that produced this piece of joy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, all.
What an experience.

Outstanding.... Live in Holland and seen La Boheme in cinema..
Enjoyed it so much.. Perfect evening..!!
Amazing... but please stop spoiling the plot for us by talking too much. You even revealed musetta's knicker joke before the opera started... this great production was designed for us to discover la boheme fresh and the presentation took some of that away from us.
Just great production. Thank you all involved in the production and the chance to see this opera in southern Spain.
IT was a truly memorable evening the laughter and tears. Thank you to everyone, living in the north of England it's not possible to attend in London BUT this is the next best thing. Again sincerest thanks.
A brilliant production. Mimi's aria of who she is was one of the most moving moments in opera that I have ever seen. Musetta really played the warm hearted tart so well.
Unfortunately I did feel that act II had so crowded that we missed some of the humorous interactions.
Overall I am sure we will hear a lot more of these singers.
Magnificent in every aspect. Felt privileged to be part of it in my local theatre. Thank you
A stunning performance by all, still overwhelmed the following morning. What an inspiration Antonio Pappano is too for someone watching who is fairly new to live opera. Thanks to all for a wonderful evening.
Wonderful performance but shame about the breaks in sound, 6-7 times including right at the end in the very last scene. Guildford Odeon
Lovely production. I watch in Chateaubriant . The French make it special with wine and canapes in the interval so we can discuss it and meet our fellow ROH supporters. It makes us feel part of this wonderful evening.
Have been three times to the ROH but the screening of La Boheme was even better than being there. The performance was stunning with remarkably good acting. The filming and sound reproduction superb. I will never miss another and can afford to go out to dine! Well done team ROH.
I am a great admirer of Richard Jones' work in opera. Not quite as cutting-edge as I would usually expect, but still a worthy successor to John Copley's classic production and David McVicar's at Glyndebourne. All three managed to achieve that suspension of disbelief which when it happens makes one understand why opera really is the greatest of the arts.
Superb cast of principles, but I must make a special mention om Michael Fabbiano's singing of Che gelida mannina, delivering the aria in the conversational manner the composer surely wanted. Listen to the young Caruso who would have known Puccini. And for good measure, the world's finest conductor of verismo at the helm.
Any chance of the Ring next year. I don't fancy paying £1000 for four tickets again!
What an amazing experience. I have loved La Boheme for 40 years and this is the best ever. I was distraught at the end. When I asked another member of the audience what she thought - through her tears she said 'I have no words!" We are so privileged to have this experience at our local theatre.
Simply wonderful performance in every single way !
Congratulations to everyone at the ROH for such an amazing performance, best ever.
Just wonderful. Thanks to those who thought to bring live performances to our local cinemas
A fine performance by the young actors/singers, conducted so well by Antonio Pappano. It was obvious as to the amount of preparation that had gone into rehearsal. There were no apparent glitches, although it would be interesting to hear how the Director and Pappano saw it. As an amateur choral singer, there are always at least one hitch in our performances, although it is usually only obvious to the choir, musicians and conductor; the audience are unaffected.
So fortunate to be included in the audience to watch such a beautiful production. The entire cast were superb - Mimì was exceptional. The love of Puccini showed through!
The introduction and interval information was great - it was brilliant to see the cast and Antonio Pappano give their insight into their roles and the music - but would have enjoyed it more as a separate event/programme- I like to enjoy the interval absorbing what we have already watched .
Just all round BRILLIANT!!! Thanks again Mr Puccini for the soaring music.
Just wonderful and moving! The singing was gorgeous and the acting so convincing
I can only make the same all round brilliant comments of above. loved the new production and, of course, more than I can express, everything else. I am probably the only one of all the commentators who saw if live in the House.
Brilliant and moving performance brought all the way to Rome by modern technology. We saw it in a multi screen cinema in the Italian capital’s Northern burbs. Astonished that there were mostly empty seats. Why? Full houses already for the Maestro’s next personal appearance here later this week at the Parco della Musica. Publicity failure? Or sad reflection of musical tastes in the burbs?
Couldn't hear it and left during the interval. This happens SO often with ROH productions. Maybe the tech people assume that most of the audience in Henley wear a hearing aid! SUCH a pity when such a wonderful new production cannnot be heard as it is meant to be heard.
Beautiful close ups of the cast actually playing their parts and not just singing, a great achievement. Singing was beautiful but I would like to be at the opera house to experience the singing live. I have seen the previous production at ROH a few times and even the production before that! The behind scene views of the production were very informative and I hope when the CD is released there will be even more information of the production. Very well done ROH and Pappano
How many of us who saw that classic John Copley production could have hoped, much less expected this to be it's equal?
Well I never!
Awesome!!! Amazing young and fresh cast!
I really enjoyed it at the cinema in Treviso!
This was a brilliant new production. Whilst there is nothing to quite natch being at the ROH itself; if you cannot get to London the cinema broadcasts are excellent. You also gain some things you may miss at the ROH, like camera close ups of the singers and the stage sets.
The interviews before the start and during the interval are excellent and helpful.
I do hope the ROH releases a DVD of this performance in time for Christmas presents!
I watched the performance from The Light Cinema, New Brighton, Wirral.
Wow! Stunning performances all 'round. Fantastic piece of work from all the performers - cried so exquisit.
Thank you so much. xxx
I was one of those very fortunate people who saw Boheme at the ROH a few days before the cinema relay. Both in the theatre and in the cinema this came across as one of those rare performances of opera where everything comes together perfectly. This was a classic cast which I think can hardly be bettered today and the world should not be deprived of what must be one of the very best performances of this opera. A DVD of this performance must surely be released before too long!
I enjoyed it so much on screen in deepest Lincolnshire that I bought a ticket to see it live at ROH next Tuesday. Will catch train to get home at 2am but I know it will be worth it.
I have followed your productions for some time now and have always been enchanted; but to me "La Bohème" was the first time I had the impression the singers were performing like the greatest theatre actors. And I was surprised to realise that the two friends who came with me had the same impression.
I loved the beauty and the amazing depth of singing. I was truly moved by the opera. From the beginning to the end I never stopped being enraptured. I loved the smoothness of the different transitions . The scenery was so evocative. Marcelo was beyond amazing. How can you make me cry.
It was three hours of pure magic. Superb production and stage effects and above all acting and singing that brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful to have Event Cinema locally it has changed my life. Congratulations to all who were involved.
I saw the performance in the theatre and was not expecting to be moved as I was, I have seen Boheme more times that I care to remember! The live transmission was superb, my one criticism was the showing of "highlights" during the pre-performance chat. For me having seen the production it was not a spoiler but my friends who went with me felt that it spoilt the expectation. This also happened in Zauberflote again spoiling the performance in the cinema. I would much rather just have interviews and discussion but no actual bits of the performance
Oh my goodness! I am still buzzing from this, my first live opera streaming.
Unforgettable, spell binding, and just absolutely amazing. I am HOOKED!
Fantastic performance! Very emotional. One of the best I've seen.
The opera itself, the music and performances were breathtaking. The interviews and explanations were distracting and annoying when one wants to be immersed in the experience of La Boheme. Better save the emcee for the end, so that viewers have a choice to experience the purity of the opera alone without the talking heads and hashtags. I won’t be attending ROH at the Cinema in future if I have to sit through all of that.
This was definitely an amazing experience for the performances. Other than Musetta, they were all fantastic. The sets and costumes were reminiscent of a high school musicals in that they often looked cheap and did not add to the dramatic effect.
