#ROHquartett has huge performances from all, some ravishing music, staged with effective morbidity.

#ROHQuartett Thought-provoking but unevenly matched seduction games. Unlike Merteuil, Valmont failed to inflame my loins.

The Linbury is a perfect space for the work, with electronics amplifying the sense of claustrophobia. Great use of space.

Anyone in or near London who cares about opera as a living art-form, as opposed to a fusty museum-piece, should hasten to see #ROHquartett.

What did you think of Quartett?
The Royal Opera's new production of Quartett runs until 28 June 2014. Tickets are still available.
The production is given with generous philanthropic support from Mr Stefan Sten Olsson, and is a co-production between The Royal Opera, Opéra de Rouen and London Sinfonietta.
