The Power of the Ring, a book documenting the process of staging The Ring Cycle, has been re-published in paperback.

The book features more than 350 full-colour photographs by Clive Barda of preparations, rehearsals and performances. The book also includes exclusive interviews with the cast and creative team including Antonio Pappano, Keith Warner, Bryn Terfel, John Tomlinson and Plácido Domingo. The book is available from the re-opened Royal Opera House shop alongside other publications about The Ring.

The author, Gary Kahn, will speak about Wagner’s masterpiece at four ‘Wine and Wagner’ evenings, held at Covent Garden restaurant Notes.

Wine & Wagner events will take place as follows:

  • Rheingold evening – 27 September
  • Die Walküre evening – 11 October
  • Siegfried evening – 25 October
  • Götterdämmerung evening – 19 November

Each event begins at 7pm. £15 per event, or £50 for the whole series. Tickets and more information at Notes’s website.

The Power of the Ring is available from the Royal Opera House’s newly-reopened shop in soft-cover, priced £35.
