Ballet fans were offered an exclusive glimpse into rehearsals for The Royal Ballet's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland during a recent Insight event which was livestreamed via YouTube. The full rehearsal is now available to watch on-demand.

As well as sections featuring the cast being coached through sections of Christopher Wheeldon's modern classic, the Insight also offered a closer look at the many props and puppets that bring Wonderland to life. The event was presented by Royal Ballet Principal Alexander Campbell.

Based on Lewis Carroll's iconic fantasy novel, Wheeldon's ballet had its premiere at Covent Garden in 2011 and immediately became an audience favourite. It has since been performed by dance companies around the world. Reflective of its international appeal, The Royal Ballet's production will be relayed live to cinemas across the globe on 23 October.

Cant wait to see who is rehearsing for and performing The Queen of Hearts. Can,t imagine anyone else who could perform that role.

  2. Loved the tap dancing - craving a West Side Story broadway type show at Covent Garden.

Alexander Campbell - on par with Ant and Dec!
