Artistic Director of Hot House, Gareth Malone, takes you through the piece’s finale in this short film. A new commission by composer Julian Grant and librettist Stephen Plaice, Hot House is part of a massive event called One Big Stage, organized by the ROH Education Department. A community project bringing together over 150 young people to perform a new opera and dance work, Hot House is the latest in a long line of projects Gareth had done with the Royal Opera House.

Join the chart-topping choirmaster and the Youth Opera Company of the Royal Opera House and some of the talented young cast as they warm up for the Hot House finale.

Gareth recently revealed that he too will be on stage in costume with the Youth Opera Company, although he wasn’t prepared to tell us what he would be wearing.

Hot House will be performed on Sunday 22 July as part of One Big Stage.

  1. My friend Julian Grant's wonderful opera. I SO wish I could have been there to see the performance. This is a wonderful video of the children singing the finale.
