Don Giovanni director Kasper Holten's video diary series documenting the process behind staging an opera production is available to watch on the Royal Opera House YouTube channel.

The films give an exclusive glimpse into Kasper's directorial vision for the production, as well as first glimpses of the set. Over the past eight episodes the director has focused on subjects as diverse as directing lavish party scenes and intense on-stage fights, the challenges imposed by a Main Stage set, and initial rehearsals with the singers.

Kasper will continue to post video diaries in the run up to opening night on 1 February.

You can also get an insight into the process of preparing an opera by listening to a recent interview with Don Giovanni designer Es Devlin.

Loved the production watched at Odeon Cinema Nuneaton, but only 8 of us in auditorium! Why don't you/Odeon do some marketing with local music groups/colleges etc. Masses just don't turn up for high culture in places like Nuneaton. It's such a shame. I wrote to Odeon but no response. Keep up the wonderful work. Jeff
