Royal Ballet First Soloist Bennet Gartside has directed a short film for Channel 4's Random Acts series.

The film, entitled Sarah, gives an insight into Principal Sarah Lamb's warm up and rehearsal process.

'I was approached by the BalletBoyz to shoot a film on Sarah', says Bennet. 'My inspiration really was how she works - she's so meticulous. Even though it seems perfect to most, in her head she's always fine tuning. It's such a private process until the dancer takes it to the stage.

'I'd very much love to do more short films, it's just finding the time.'

Bennet is not the first Royal Ballet dancer to be involved in the Random Acts series: Former First Artist Jonathan Watkins choreographed two films for the series - Bunker and Sofa - while BalletBoyz (AKA former Principals Michael Nunn and William Trevitt) have contributed a number of films to the series.
