With Christmas just around the corner, I would like to take the opportunity to remind you that a Gift Membership to the Friends is a lovely way to introduce friends and relatives to the world of the Royal Opera House. Information about Gift Membership is on our website under the Support section. From December every new member will receive a new-style pack which includes important information so that membership can be enjoyed immediately.

I would also like to remind you that our mobile shop in the amphitheatre is due to get a new look so it will be easier to navigate. You will find all the current CDs and DVDs as well as new releases to put under the Christmas tree. Do remember to show your Friends card to receive a 10% discount.

Rehearsals for our new production of Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci are now in full swing with all the artists and the full team working on the new production. I very much hope that you have purchased your tickets, there is still some availability especially for the later performances. Listen to director Damiano Michieletto talking about his vision for the operas:

You may also wish to be part of our two new Royal Ballet syndicates to support Frankenstein, Liam Scarlett’s first full length work for the main stage, and a new one-act ballet by Christopher Wheeldon inspired by John Singer Sargent’s notorious Portrait of Madame X.

The syndicates bring together like-minded ballet lovers who will support their production together from its formative choreographic stages right through to the opening night, gaining insight into the work and the rehearsal processes along the way.

For more information about Frankenstein please contact Bridie Layden at Bridie.Layden@roh.org.uk  or call +44 207 212 9266, and for more information about the new Christopher Wheeldon please contact Emma Warren-Thomas at Emma.WarrenThomas@roh.org.uk or call +44 207 212 9784.

And finally, I would just like to thank you all for your support and very much hope that you if have not had the opportunity to renew your support you will do so.
