The Royal Opera is staging Francesco Cavalli's Baroque masterpiece, L’Ormindo in a new collaboration with Shakespeare’s Globe.
First performed in Venice in 1644, the opera is the first to be performed at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse – an intimate, candlelit venue.
Although the Royal Opera House ticket allocation has sold out, there is limited availability for the performances, either from the Shakespeare’s Globe website or by ringing their box office on +44 (0)20 7401 9919.
Ahead of tomorrow's first night, find out more about one of the opera’s musical highlights.
L’Ormindo runs 25 March–12 April 2014 at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Shakespeare’s Globe. Tickets are still available via the Globe’s website. The production is given with generous philanthropic support from Sir Simon and Lady Robertson.
