The Royal Opera’s production of Verdi’s Nabucco is now available to pre-order on DVD and on Blu-ray from the Royal Opera House Shop.

Daniele Abbado’s new production had its world premiere in April 2013, and was subsequently screened live in cinemas across the world. Read audience reactions to the opening night and the live cinema relay.

In the production, Plácido Domingo makes a major role debut as Nabucco, alongside Liudmyla Monastyrska, highly acclaimed for her performance as the terrifying anti-heroine Abigaille. Nicola Luisotti conducts.

Verdi considered Nabucco – first performed in 1842 – the first significant work of his artistic career. A biblical epic, the opera features some stand-out numbers for the chorus, including the Hebrew song of exile 'Va, pensiero', considered by many to be Italy's unofficial national anthem.

Nabucco is now available. Order your copy of the DVD or the Blu-ray now.

Nabucco runs 6 – 30 June 2016. Tickets are still available.

Can you consider issuing productions as downloads to purchase or stream for a fee? DVDs rapidly becoming old hat and are incompatible for tablets. Cheers.
