The Royal Ballet and The National Ballet of Canada will collaborate on a unique immersive performance of Robert Binet’s The Dreamers Ever Leave You at London's unique venue Printworks in October 2017.
The UK premiere of the ballet will mark the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation and will be performed at vast and industrial former home of the Metro and Evening Standard newspapers' printing operations. It is inspired by Lawren Harris’ landscape paintings of land, light, and sky and is set to live music by Lubomyr Melnyk. The immersive staging will invite the audience to move through the space and experience the dancers' dynamic response to their surroundings.
'The Royal Ballet and The National Ballet of Canada have worked together on many occasions and I’m thrilled that our dancers will perform together in what promises to be a unique dance experience in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary', said Director of The Royal Ballet Kevin O'Hare.
Robert Binet is the Choreographic Associate of The National Ballet of Canada and was Choreographic Apprentice of The Royal Ballet from 2012-13.
The Dreamers Ever Leave You runs 12-13 October 2017. Tickets go on general sale on 26 July 2017.
