The Royal Opera House is a charity, and each year we run a Grand Draw as a way to raise money; it helps raise funds to help with everything we do, from staging new productions and revivals to our education and outreach work.
Tickets start at just £2, which could buy four colour filters for our stage lights, or a book for £12, enough to purchase a pair of protective gloves with which to build our sets.
By buying or selling tickets for the Grand Draw, you can support the Royal Opera House’s work, and be in with a chance to win one of the 21 great prizes, including the first prize holiday-of-a-lifetime to the Maldives.
Other prizes include generously-donated hotel breaks, tickets in the Royal Box at Covent Garden, spa treatments, luxury gifts and tasty treats; meaning that if you enter, you have a number of chances to win! See the full list of Grand Draw prizes.
If you haven’t received a book of tickets by post, or have mislaid yours, register your interest before the end of January and we’ll send you one. Fill this in along with the payment slip and hopefully you’ll be one of the 21 people I get to contact to let them know they’ve won after the 1 February deadline for entries!
It must be said that the best part of organizing the Grand Draw is telling people they’ve won. In 2011, the lady who won the Swan Hellenic cruise said: ‘You must be joking! I can’t have won a cruise - I never win anything.’ The same year I had a note from another winner saying: ‘Thank you for the champagne which arrived at 8.45 this morning - lovely to get it so quickly and extra welcome as it’s my wife's birthday today!’
Whether or not you win, we will be very grateful that you take part. As a charity, each and every donation really does make a difference, helping us achieve our aim to enrich people’s lives through opera, ballet and dance. Good luck!
Entry for the Grand Draw closes on 1 February.
