Four Royal Opera productions (Le nozze di Figaro, La bohème, Eugene Onegin and La traviata) and two Royal Ballet productions (Swan Lake and Sylvia) will be available through Digital Theatre’s expanding range of platforms including iPhone, iPad, desktop player, Samsung Smart TV and the on-demand Digital Theatre channel on the YouView Talk Talk Player.
Alastair Roberts, Managing Director of ROH Enterprises, said: ‘This is an exciting new partnership for us, making our productions available across the widest possible variety of digital platforms. It adds to the variety of ways in which people can see our work outside of the auditorium itself – such as our BP Big Screens and ROH Live Cinema Season, and our work on TV and DVD – enabling audiences to access our performances wherever they are in the world and whenever they want.’
The Royal Opera House Collection on the platform will continue to grow, creating an online catalogue of opera and ballet productions.
Also announced is a Digital Theatre partnership with Shakespeare’s Globe. Four plays will be made available from the Bankside-based theatre.
