After the success of the Royal Opera House's first New Year's Eve party in 2013, the ROH will again be hosting an evening of glamour and music.
A magical night is promised with members of the Royal Opera Chorus singing classics from the repertory in an intimate after-dinner concert.
'We really enjoyed performing at the inaugural New Year's Eve dinner last year', said a member of the Chorus. 'There was great food and a great atmosphere, and being able to watch the fireworks was the icing on the cake! We’ve already started planning the music for this year’s event and are very much looking forward to performing again for everyone in the wonderful Paul Hamlyn Hall.'
The black tie evening begins at 7.30pm with a Ruinart champagne and canapé reception in the Paul Hamlyn Hall, followed by a superb four-course dinner. Our award-winning chefs will be producing a menu of prime British produce including Severn & Wye smoked salmon, Cornish lobster, Windsor Estate venison and Angus beef. For dessert, master pastry chef Claire Clark has designed a celebratory ‘Chocolate Orange’ of chocolate mousse, hazelnut sponge, nougatine and candied kumquat. All dietary requirements can be accommodated on request.
At midnight, guests will head to the Amphitheatre Terrace for views across London and the countdown to 2015. Then, to round off the evening, guests can dance or enjoy the jazz music of The Denmark Street Big Band until the early hours.
