I want to book a total opera package on line on Sept 11th and have just spent nearly an hour trying to find a way through your increasingly complex web pages so that I will know what I'm doing on the day. Please give me a simple route to do this.....it is extremely frustrating.

Still a little mystified why a slow, but reliable on-line service has been replaced with a telephone one where for the last ten minutes I have had nothing but an engaged tone.
This really is not an acceptable process for a world-class institution. Please sort this out before the next booking season.

But I could do this on line in Australia for the summer package. Why the change? Yesterday I booked on line for the new National Theatre season. Was number 1988 in the queue at the start, got on with other tasks at my desk with the queue position updated frequently on the screen and after an hour completed the booking. Now I am faced with an engaged tone and the need to sit constantly retrying the number. Is this supposed to be an improvement and if so who for?
In addition I will not be able to see and select my
seat. It feels like a retrograde step.
    Regards
    Judith

      Hi Judith,

We are very sorry that you cannot currently book packages online and we apologise profusely for the inconvenience caused. We are working hard on finalising the development of online packages and hope to reintroduce this service early in 2013.

Are packages now only available to friends? What will be the public booking date?

      Hi Nicolas,

Just to confirm, public booking for packages opens Wednesday 10 October, not on 4 October as originally stated in the blog,

Sorry in advance for any confusion,

      All the best,

      Lottie

Was just preparing to book a Total Ballet Package for Winter from our house in Spain.....only to find that it can't now be done on-line! I fear that hanging on the phone for a long period is not feasible from Spain so may have to give the package a miss this year. Why the change?

    • Ellen West (Online Content Manager) responded on 11 October 2012 at 8:35pm

We are in the process of rebuilding our website and online booking for packages will be addressed in a future phase of development. Apologies if this is frustrating.

Not being able to book for this online is very disappointing and a retrogressive step.

    • Chris Shipman (Online Content Producer (Social Media and News)) responded on 10 October 2012 at 1:55pm

      Hi Alex,

Packages will be available to book again online in the near future. Please be assured this is only a temporary change.

      Thanks,

      Chris

I've frequently booked a mini package on line in the past. Your mailing with the new programme omitted to include the promised mini package brochure, I cannot find the details on line, and the booking process now is impossible unless you can spend all day redialling. What is happening to this world class institution?
